About

Mirah Ray is a violinist, cellist, director, and an educator with a profoundly unique background of training and performance. As a teacher, she promotes a healthy balance of wellbeing physically, emotionally, and spiritually. She nurtures a growth of confidence and belief in oneself while ensuring each student has fun and enjoys their musical journey.

With over 15 years of teaching experience, her foundation began with coaching and mentoring the violin and cello sections with youth orchestras across the East Bay. She first debuted with the Young Performers Orchestra, Diablo Regional Youth Orchestra, and the Community Arts Youth Orchestra in 2008. Other groups she has partnered with are the Napa Valley Youth Symphony and the Marin Valley Youth Symphony. Continuing to pursue pre-professional level, Mirah received the Sister Francis Xavier Award in 2015 as a member of the internationally acclaimed Virtuoso Program at the San Domenico School.

As an alumnus and Music Guild Competition awardee from Westmont College, communities across the state, country, and overseas have welcomed Mirah to perform various kinds of concerts. Some include chamber concerts, solo recitals, weddings, special events, theater productions, operas, fundraising, galas, and more. Mirah has toured and performed at Disney Hall and Disney Recording Studios in California, Kennedy Hall in Washington DC, Ireland, England, and Wales. Mirah holds a BA in Music Performance.

Mirah has been a performer and member of the San Francisco Master Chorale, the Solano Symphony, the Santa Ynez Master Chorale, Santa Barbara String Quartet, the Santa Maria Philharmonic, and the San Francisco Philharmonic. As a part of her goal to continue helping promote music education programs, Mirah has partnered with the BRAVO Program, Children in Need, and intergenerational programs at senior living communities such as Alexander Gardens and Merrill Gardens.

When she is not teaching, Mirah loves exercising, taking her dog on adventures with her, and spending quality time with friends and family.
